National Permaculture Day – May 6, 2012

Community Projects, Courses/Workshops, Social Gatherings, Village Development — by Penny Pyett February 22, 2012

Sponsorship opportunity in permaculture: businesses, local groups, entrepreneurs, consultants & trainers.

Dear Permaculture Practitioners and Local Groups

National Permaculture Day (NPD) showcases the practices of permaculture to the public. Businesses and local groups show permaculture in action — through markets, demonstrations, ‘open houses and gardens’, and local events in city and country.

The day has run nationally for three years, supported first by individuals and local groups, and last year by a grant of $17,900 from the federal government. It is part of the developing move for a national presence for permaculture.

Australia’s Permaculture Day, May 1st – Only Two Days to Go!

Community Projects, Courses/Workshops, Social Gatherings — by Penny Pyett April 29, 2011

Dear permaculture people — if you haven’t seen the National Permaculture Day website recently you should see it now!

With over 70 events showcasing permaculture happening around Australia this Sunday, it’s going to be a fantastic day with our co-operative efforts gaining maximum public and media attention. Local and national newspapers and radio are certainly picking up on this. Various permies have already done several interviews about the day — I’ve done a few and expect to do many more over the next few days. Be prepared just in case you are also contacted as I have been referring media to local people running specific events. There is a permaculture event in every state except the Northern Territory.

Media releases have gone out to all metropolitan and regional TV, radio and newspapers, plus news agencies and talkback radio. In total, 1136 emails to date!

National Permaculture Day – Sunday May 1st, 2011

Community Projects, Conferences, Courses/Workshops, Presentations/Demonstrations, Social Gatherings — by Penny Pyett March 5, 2011

Dear Permies

Australia’s National Permaculture Day (NPD) this year will be Sunday May 1st . (Although some events will start on Sat of that weekend.) It is definitely off to a great start as we, Permaculture Sydney North, (PSN) were successful in receiving a grant for $19,715 for the day, from the Commonwealth Govt Department of Agriculture Fisheries and Forestry. The "Community Action Grant" is to promote sustainable agriculture in both urban and rural environments, conserving bio-diversity and the environment. The grant is for promotion and publicity of the event — production of materials, a short you-tube promo video etc, and a small contribution to administration and co-ordination of the big day. This in and of itself was a big achievement.

Would You Like to See a NSW Convergence?

Bio-regional Organisations, Community Projects, Conferences, Courses/Workshops, Developments, Networking Sites, People Systems, Social Gatherings, Village Development — by Penny Pyett September 3, 2010

Dear NSW Permaculturalists,

For some time now Permies in NSW have been talking about having a regular NSW Permaculture gathering. The discussion has been gathering momentum lately and many of us feel it’s time to organize the first such event.

The idea is to hold a state convergence late next year on the August long weekend – Friday 30th July to Monday 1st August 2011 – at a desirable live-in venue. Permaculture Sydney (representing Pc Sydney North, Pc Sydney South and Pc Sydney West) has agreed to host the first event in Sydney.

At this stage Permaculture Sydney would like to hear from Permies and representatives of local Permaculture groups across NSW about: a) Support for the convergence b) What you would like to see happen at the first State Permaculture convergence and c) If and how you would like to present or be involved in some way.

A State convergence provides many personal, social and professional opportunities:
